The UNIMARC Guidelines for Archival Materials are intended (1) to represent archival materials in electronic catalogues for integrating access for both library and archival collections and using common retrieval instruments, and (2) to provide correct description of archival materials held by libraries in the format which is familiar and convenient for librarians.
